Strongly supported by Reach Volunteering, our campaign volunteer group first met in January 2019. Our first phase – key findings from mapping of current activity undertaken primarily by key charity umbrella and member organisations – identified strong commitment and support for the aims of this campaign as well as some current good practice, though often in silos. It also highlighted the lack of access to Black and Asian network organisations as a key factor in the lack of racial diversity on charity trustee Boards.
Respondents to our questionnaire survey included ACEVO, the Association of Chairs, Charity Finance Group, Getting On Board, NCVO, Reach Volunteering, the Small Charities Coalition, Voice4Change England and Green Park interim, executive search and diversity consultancy.
